In this article, I want to answer this important question: how to build a personal brand online? And foremost, why you should build your personal brand?
I’m Megan from Hyprloox, and what I’m going to share with you in this article most probably will change the perspective about online business.
First of all, you have to know that whatever you are selling, you are selling yourself first, as I mentioned multiple times in the other articles that I wrote.
You are the most important product of your company. People like doing business with people first, and then with a company.
Especially in today’s economy, in my opinion, there is a misunderstanding of the words “personal branding”. Personal branding is underestimated by a lot of business owners and professionals because most of them constantly believe that a good product or service is enough to create a sustainable business.
Let me point out that it is absolutely wrong. Many companies in the world have incredible products and/or services but because they didn’t develop an important Brand, they are not capable of selling their products or services as they would want and/or at the price they deserve.
Most of the times, these companies can’t sell their products at the right price because they are not perceived as valuable as they really are.
In this article, I want to answer these 3 important questions:
1) How can you increase the perception that you are an established Brand even if you are at the beginning?
2) How can you enhance your perceived value from your target audience’s point of view?
3) How can you influence more people to choose you instead of your competitors?
Question #1. How can you increase the perception that you are an established Brand?
There are 3 main things you can work on to increase the perception of your Brand.
A) Story of your company
B) The communications
C) The reasons why you do what you do

Every successful company has a story behind its products and/or services. You have to be able to communicate the story behind your Brand.
Your Brand’s story connects your target audience with your company on a deeper level, emotional level. Your target audience feels involved with your company’s story, and the story itself can be used as your unique selling proposition (what differentiate your company from the others).
Especially if you are starting from scratch, with no clients and no followers, you should learn to communicate your story to engage your prospects and persuade them to become clients.
You can do this by communicating effectively and consistently with your audience. This is why it is extremely important to set up an editorial plan to constantly share your ideas and information to educate your target audience to choose you instead of the competition.
The keyword is VALUE. Provide value first (on a daily basis), and then your clients will follow.
Last but not least, explain precisely the reasons why you do what you do. As Simon Sinek perfectly explains, all the companies in the world know what they do.
The vast majority of them start their selling message by explaining to their prospects what they do, why they are different and why their product or service is superior to the competition’s product.
It’s not wrong, obviously, but you don’t have to start selling in this way. He suggests starting by explaining why your company does what it does.
Then you can move on to explaining the benefits and differentiation of your product or service.
By starting your message with WHY you do what you do, you are attracting prospects that are aligned with your beliefs and, once they are attracted, they want your product or service. This strategy is more effective, especially with early adopters.
They want to be the first to use your product or services (especially if you are beginning) because they fell in love with your message. Keep in mind this concept because it is extremely important.
I will probably write an entire article by explaining Simon Sinek’s point of view in a deep level.
Let’s move on to the next section.
Question #2: how can you enhance your perceived value from your target audience’s point of view?
In the paragraph above, I mentioned one important keyword: VALUE.
Keep this word in mind because it is very important to your success, both online and offline.
In today’s economy, we are bombarded by messages, a lot of them. It’s not so easy to acquire clients since they have a lot of different choices. To let them choose you instead of your competition, you have to provide value first on a daily basis.

I’m pretty sure that you are known for something, for what you do, for some certain characteristics. This is why, regardless of the products or services that you are selling, the most important differentiation is you. I encourage you to introduce your company and speak about what you do (and why) by showing your face on a daily basis.
This is why you have to use social networks to communicate with your audience constantly. In order to buy your products and services, your clientele need to fall in love with you first, then with the story of your company (or your personal story), and then they will become clients 🙂
What I’m going to tell you is very important: you don’t become famous, then you say “I’m gonna build my personal brand”, that’s not how you do it.
You build your personal brand one fan at a time. How you treat that one fan, your first fan… when you upload your first video when you have your first comment… give them a heart, look at the comment, look at what they are looking for. Get feedback from them, so you can become better.
The key is to start small, one step at a time. There is no shortcut. You have to earn it. Another important aspect is that you have to keep constantly connected with your fans. The moment you lose the connection with your target audience, you lose your personal brand.
I want to share with you an important concept of one of my mentors. His name is Gary Vee. He is obsessed with posting on a daily basis on as many social as you can. The question is: how to find new fresh ideas every day?
The secret is in documenting, not merely posting or create awesome content. This is what your fans are looking for.
Let me give you an example.
Let’s suppose you are a professional, for example, lash tech. You can make some videos while you are working on your clients’ lashes by simply explaining what you are doing with the client permission.
You are creating content by sharing your target audience part of your job and letting them know what you do with your clients.
This content creation strategy can be done in every profession. A real estate agent, for example, may document a new apartment available for selling or for letting. You can create a video by explaining to your audience why that specific apartment is an excellent investment.
Share a video by showing the entire apartment, its features, the location and other things that your potential clients would like to know. Easy.
All these things that I have just explained contribute to creating your personal Brand.
Question #3: How can you influence more people to choose you instead of your competitors?
If you put into practice what you have learned in the previous paragraphs, you are a step ahead of your competition. Remember, the secret of success is doing what others are not willing to do.

If you want to influence more people, I give for granted that you have to be very good at what you do. It’s not a choice. In a world where competition is increasing every single day, you have to be very good at what you do.
If you share content daily, if you provide value on a daily basis, if you constantly communicate with your clients and prospect too, you are persuading people to choose you instead of your competitors.
This is a battle, and you have to fight every single day to keep your audience continuously attracted to your brand. The keyword to remember is CONSISTENCY.
There aren’t any tricks for success. You have to work on it, and on your personal brand too, every single day. By doing this repeatedly, your success (and your brand also) will skyrocket 🙂
I hope to have been very helpful with the strategies that I just shared with you about developing your personal brand.
I wish you the best.
Megan
PS: do not forget that the first and most important element to create a successful Brand is to attract people attention first. Using a logo avatar is a great strategy to stop people from scrolling while they are on social networks. If you are reading this article and you never ordered a custom business logo with Hyprloox, you should do now 🙂
Take a look at what Chrisey wrote to us: “thank you so much for your fast service as friendly! Because you I’ve gained 50 followers in the last 24 hours! Definitely recommending you to everyone I know!”
